Mainly Music Camp 2015 and their directors Lorie Windrem and Ann Millen will be hosting their music day camp for children this July.
Mainly Music Camp is offered to youths entering Grade 4 to those entering Grade 9 in September of 2015. This camp experience will give children an opportunity to play a musical instrument of their choice as well as participate in a band. African drumming, ukulele, STOMP and boom-whackers will also be included in the programming. Instruments are provided and no previous musical experience is necessary.
Mainly Music camp runs from July 13th to the 17th at St. Martin’s Parish Hall in Ennismore and from July 20th to the 24th at Mark Street United in Peterborough.
About the camp directors:
Lorie currently teaches instrumental music at Chemong Public School and has been a teacher for the past 28 years in the primary, junior and intermediate divisions.
Lorie has also been the past director of the Music, Art, Drama and Dance Camp at Trent University and currently is the organist of St. James Church in Emily Township.
Lorie is a Trent and Queen’s University graduate in Concurrent Education.
Ann is a 21 year member of the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra and teaches horn and theory in her private studio. She has also taught at the New Horizons Band Association. Ann holds a music degree from the University of Toronto and a BA from the University of Western Ontario.
