This came in to our brother Matt Diamond at The WOLF today. Please read…
Thanks a million for agreeing to air this Christmas Wish on your radio station!!!!
Last night, my daughter and her husband, Tom and Priscilla Turvey, watched a movie at the Galaxy Theatre (The Martian at 9:45pm). While searching through her purse during the movie, Priscilla must have dropped her cellphone because when they returned home after the show she could not find it to plug it into the charger.
The reason this cellphone is of so very much importance is that they lost their first baby, Hoban, to stillbirth in late April this year and that phone has a 30G hard drive full of pictures of their son – from the ultrasound to their delivery celebration at the hospital and visitation at the funeral home before his cremation. So, understandably this is no simple phone loss, but memories with their son they cannot replace. Hoban would have been 7 months old now and we are all still suffering from his loss – my first grandchild.
The cellphone was a Blackberry Q10 in a case that is rust colored on the back with black trim and a screen protector. The photos were not backed up on the computer since both Tom and Priscilla’s computers are not working and Tom was going to take the phone with him to work today to download them to his work computer for backup until their computers were repaired.
Since returning home last night and finding the cellphone missing, my daughter hasn’t stopped crying. She says she feels like she is losing Hoban all over again and it is killing her so I am hoping you can help me reach out to the good people of Peterborough in hopes that this cellphone can be returned to them intact. This is our Christmas Wish and we are desperate to get it back.
Please, I know how popular this station is. Until a year ago, I myself lived in Peterborough before moving to BC to be closer to my sons but when I lived there I listened to your station all the time – and even visited your offices downtown periodically when I was in the area to let you know how much we, your audience, enjoy your music and the comraderie you share each day with us all.
Please, I’m begging you, please help us to reach someone out there who will be a good semaritan and return the phone to my daughter and her husband as soon as possible so she can stop crying.
I’ll be keeping in touch until it is returned and hope you will contact Priscilla or Tom at home at 705-745-5327 when you receive a call saying it has been found so it can be returned to them. I know Peterborough has many good good people in it and am trying to keep Priscilla and Tom optimist that someone out there has found it and is willing to do them this kindness. Please let callers know they do not want to press charges but just ask the cellphone be returned to them unharmed so they can proceed to download these precious memories for safekeeping from this point on.
This is all we have left of Hoban. Thank you for agreeing to help us!!!
