Whomever was responsible for the hate crime at the Peterborough mosque certainly has had the tables turned on them. The damage was fixable. An appalled community embraced a crowdfunding campaign. Insured, the mosque was able to repair the damage without need for the fundraised money, which can now go to good works in the community. And today, an announcement: funds going to Five Counties Children’s Center and the YWCA Crossroads Shelter. Good news all around. Thank you to the Peterborough community for supporting the mosque. Thank you to the local Muslim community for your generosity and in supporting noteworthy work in the community.
As for the purveyors of hate crime, well, it didn’t work, did it? It never does….
From the ashes has risen victory for peace, love that transgresses all faiths, community and generosity. A poignant victory, indeed.
