I was lucky enough to join CHEX TV weather man Mike Judson on an excursion up Mystic Mountain yesterday.
First of all, this is what greets you as soon as walk through park entrance.
Have you ever seen such crystal clear water?
We rode a chair lift up through the thick lush rain forest. At the top of the hill there was a bar and dancers.
This is not necessarily an excursion for someone who is afraid of heights but definitely worth it if you love scenic lookouts.
Once you’re at the top of the hill you can ride a replica bobsled. It’s kind of like a roller coaster and it’s a tribute to the legendary Jamaican bobsled team.
Then you can zipline down the hill. It’s actually a series of zip lines through lush trees. It’s as beautiful as it is exciting. I was upreared for one part of the course however. We had to cross this swingy bridge. I assure you we were 100% safe and fastened in everywhere but still this bridge killed me. I crossed it so slowly that there was actually a log jam of people forming behind me.
Old ladies were over taking me which scared the crap out of me even more! I was so slow and shaky one of the old ladies recommended a bunch of stability ball exercises.
The whole affair was just so fun though. I highly recommend a trek up Mystic Mountain if you win Fresh Radio’s Step Into Sandals Contest of if you ever find yourself Ocho Rios.
