Pet owners know all too well of the joy these bundles of fur bring to our lives; yet, nothing really prepares us for the heartbreak they eventually will bring.
Our family recently said “goodbye” to a beagle who brightened our lives for 15 years. I’m not sure I could go through with what these three sisters did – – asbeautiful as it seems, I know it would’ve been just too difficult to take the last picture.
These sisters knew the end was coming for their beloved friend of 16 years. And they wanted to remember him in the sweetest way: by recreating a family photo when he was a puppy. Here’s what they posted on Reddit:

I took some pics with my Cujo before I had him put down. It was really hard but I really cherish them now.
For some more feels…my mom was having an especially hard time with it and she took him outside to “have a talk” with him. She sat down, put him in her lap and they “talked” for over an hour. I was inside and I took the opportunity to grab my camera and take some candid pics of their talk, while they weren’t looking. She cherished these pics when I showed her months later.
My mom literally never was able to pick up Cujo’s ashes at the vets. It was just too painful for her…and us. The vet said he would keep them until we were ready no matter how long.
Well a couple of years passed and then my mom got cancer and died. Overwhelmed with sadness, I had my aunt pick up Cujo and transfer his ashes to a box my uncle made for his ashes.
I had him brought to the funeral home and put him in the casket with her so she would have her Cujo.
Ummm. Does anyone have a kleenex?….
