“Live with Kelly and Michael” is about to lose half its cast.
Retired football pro-turned-TV personality Michael Strahan will soon leave the ABC talk show for a full-time gig at “Good Morning America” on the same network, ABC announced Tuesday.
But behind the scenes, the exit may less than amicable. Sources told the gossip site TMZ that the former GIants star blind-sided co-host Kelly Ripa and producer Michael Gelman this morning shortly before the official announcement.
Strahan, 44, has appeared on “GMA” two days a week since 2014. After ending his four-year tenure on “Live!,” he’ll begin the new job in September.
