Pranks are fun, right? Well, mostly for the person doing the pranking. Oh, and also the audience watching the prank, if it’s one of those things you videotape.
There are some pranks that take it a little too far – like ones that result in property damage. One such example was captured on video earlier this summer when this girl and her brother’s girlfriend decided to prank her brother with Pokemon Go and, well… Let’s just say his phone paid the price. See what went down in another of my blog entries HERE.
It’s literally one of those situations where you have to yell out “It’s just a prank, bro!” Of course, that phrase has been made famous by young men who who make hidden-camera videos where they say particularly rude things or make threatening gestures at strangers and usually get attacked physically while yelling “It’s just a prank, bro!” While some of them CAN be funny, most of them are pretty stupid.
Sometimes you’ll come across a pretty clever prank online where nobody gets hurt, nothing gets damaged (except maybe the ego of the prankee), and everyone gets a good laugh out of it afterwards.
This is one of those pranks.
It’s such a simple prank, but it works so well. You’d think buddy with the snips would have caught on right away, but I guess when you’re that focused on the task at hand (no pun intended), it can be easy to miss the small details… Like the fact that the finger you’re trying to free was free the whole time.
It sure does remind me of that classic scene in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? where Eddie and Roger get handcuffed together.
Ah, the classic rules of cartoons. “Only when it’s funny!”
But the fact that a fake injury is part of it also reminds me of that classic gag from Arrested Development, “That’s why you always leave a note!”
