Taking out the garbage is a chore that pretty much everyone has to do at one point or another. Usually it’s not a ton of fun to begin with, given that you are literally taking a bag full of rotting old food, used hygiene products, mucus-filled tissues and other various unpleasant things out to the street corner. I mean, sure, it’s better than, you know, transporting all of those substances out WITHOUT a bag, but a nice garbage can makes the experience a little less unpleasant by guarding us from the sights and smells of a week’s worth of trash.
But it can certainly make the situation unpleasant in other ways, as this kid illustrates:
I couldn’t help but laugh at this poor fella. Over and over again. You’d think after getting bashed in the head by the lid the first time, he’d have maybe thought to turn the bin around and pull it instead of continuing to push it… But when you’re hell-bent and determined to to complete a task your way, it can be hard to think logically. As a guy who has experienced this more times than I’d like to admit, it’s kinda like having blinders on that prevent you from seeing any way to finish the task than the one you’ve already determined.
Either that, or he knew full well what was going on and continued for the lulz. I kinda doubt that, though.
But to me, this kinda sums up how life can be sometimes. It doesn’t matter how simple a task might be, sometimes it feels like the universe just wants to see you struggle. Like there’s someone out there just waiting to laugh at your misfortune like I laughed at this kid’s.
Then again, maybe there was more at play here. Maybe it was one of those… Remote control garbage cans…
You know, as much as getting bashed in the head by the lid of one of those things would suck, I think I’d prefer having that happen to having someone jump out and scare me…
Mind you, as hilarious as doing that COULD turn out, it could also be bad news for the person hiding. Example:
Okay, that’s still pretty hilarious… But not for the person who got punched!
And just since we’re on the topic of people inside garbage cans now, they can be a good means of escaping a certain situation as this guy shows:
I can’t think of a better way to leave somewhere than dropping my books and backpack and jumping into a garbage can like this. “I’m out!”
But I do actually kinda wonder how he managed to get himself out of there…
