Okay, is winter is here. And a bit more of it comes in tonight and tomorrow morning – a bit of snow, or snow mixed with rain, or maybe even freezing rain.
Two things: winter tires are a very good idea but you’re just thinking about them now, you’re at least two weeks before you’ll be able to book an appointment to get them.
Until then, it’s all on you to slow down, pay attention, and keep the damn phone locked up. Or zipped. I put mine in my zippered pocket in my coat where I can’t see it – and believe me, if you set it down on the seat beside you you’ll be glancing at it when a message comes in.
I’ve seen too many close calls. We all have. So keep the phone off, or lock it up. If you have a digital display in your car and the only way to change the station is to take your eyes off the road to diddled with the touch screen, just turn the damn thing off PLEASE!
Was it just me, or have you noticed the increase in accidents in good weather, and dry roads back in the summer. Sure. I’d wager as to the cause of most of them. Imagine the trouble we’re going to have as the weather gets worse?
The festive ride program has begun. Yes, and they’ll be looking for mobile device use, too.
Active mobile communication devices, even hands-free, don’t belong in moving cars and you’re the only occupant. Touch-screen dash displays too. Just who was the dummy who came up with THAT idea????
Rant over. I’m done. Be careful out there, everybody.
Over and out.
