Yikes! This news anchor is not having it when her guest and correspondant both turn up wearing white.
Now before we go and make jokes about this woman’s vanity, calling her response an overraction or make any cat fight references…
In her defence, live television can be extremely stressful and the viewing audience can be especially judgemental and vocal when it comes to the hair, makeup and clothing choices of the women on TV. So while it may seem trivial. I imagine from this anchor’s perspective the stakes are a little higher. Don’t believe me?
And the story of this reporter who was repeatedly shamed for showing too much… BABY BELLY BUMP??? Are you kidding me?
And this reporter who was told the news is a young person’s game. Really? Young person or young women? Would this person send a letter like this Wolf Blitzer or Anderson Cooper?
So while it does seem petty, I’m going to go ahead and say she is justified. It sounds like she asked the correspondant a couple of hours ago to put on a jacket. The correspondant acknowledges that too and explains she forgot, because she’s busy. Which is also reasonable because TV news rooms are busy and hectic and understaffed. With all of that in mind rewatch this so called “meltdown”. Is it really a meltdown? No one is hysterical. No one gets personal. It just sounds like two overworked women just trying to get through one of the many hurdles they probably navigate together as professionals on a daily basis.
The real problem is whoever it was in this newsroom that thought it was appropriate to leak the footage and audio of an off air conversation. TRAITOR!
