Floyd’s is a essentially a driftwood hut on stilts in the middle of the Caribbean Sea where you can get a Red Stripe and freshly caught lobster but it truly is out in the middle of nowhere.
We had to travel nearly two hours to reach it. The catamaran ride itself was half the fun though and I nearly bawled my eyes out when we saw real life dolphins in their natural habitat racing our boat.
They were breathtaking and made a few appearances throughout our journey there and back.
When I say Floyd’s Pelican Bar is in the middle of nowhere this is what I mean.
It’s on a sandbar in pretty shallow water so you have to take a dingy from the catamaran to Floyd. You can actually walk around in the waist deep surf.
Or enjoy a drink and a freshly caught meal.
It really is the most surreal and quintessentially Caribbean experience.
