The SAG awards are primarily about celebrating TV and film performance from the past year but many celebrities used the event to speak out about Donald Trumps executive order to block refugees from some Muslim countries. Ashton Kutcher opened the award show with a pro-immigration message.
Earlier in the day he tweeted his outrage, explaining that his wife, Mila Kunis, came to America on a refugee visa.
My wife came to this country on a refugee visa in the middle of the Cold War! My blood is boiling right now!— ashton kutcher (@aplusk) 29 January 2017
Actors, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the cast of Orange Is the New Black, Sarah Paulson, Lilly Tomlin, nearly everyone who took the stage called out the President and or urged their fellow americans to donate to the ACLU.
One of the most unforgettable moments from last night’s SAG awards is Winona Ryder’s facial expressions while David K. Harbour accepts an award on behalf of the cast of Stranger Things.
She looks like a toddler who just saw their reflection in the mirror for the first time.
The internet has exploded with memes and gifs.
There’s a perfect Winona reaction for any occasion now.
