Have you ever actually solved a Rubik’s Cube?
I know a few people who are really good at them and can consistently solve any mixed-up one you hand to them. I also witnessed a former coworker solve one in under a minute – which was pretty impressive to me. I mean, it’s no world record…
… But considering I’ve never had the patience to actually solve one, I was still impressed. What I also don’t have patience for is the kid in the video above yelling “Just as my SD card runs out!” repeatedly. That kid is really good at taking someone else’s big moment and making it about himself. But I digress…
I’m impressed enough with anyone who completes a Rubik’s Cube, no matter how long it takes.
Even more impressive is solving three simultaneously. More impressive even still is someone who can do this while juggling – another thing I can’t do for the life of me.
A guy named Ravi Fernando can do just that, and posted this mind-blowing video of him pulling off that feat on YouTube… well, actually, it was a couple years ago now… But I just discovered it and it blew my mind, so I’m sure it will for you as well:
If you don’t find that impressive, I’m not sure what to tell you.
Mind you, know what would be more impressive? If someone managed to make a giant 22×22 Rubik’s Cube themselves without it exploding everywhere.
If you, like me, have no patience to actually try and solve one of these, there are methods you can learn, and some of them are super simple:
You can also find a handy tutorial outlining other methods of solving the cubes HERE.
Or, you can resort to what I think is my favourite method of solving one of these puzzles:
Ahh, that’s satisfying.
