As Murdoch Mysteries prepares to film tonight within sight of our studios downtown at King, George and Water (Murdoch Mysteries just LUVS us!), here’s a primer of some of the other productions that have filmed in and around #PTBOCanada
JUMPER: Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson from 2008 filmed out on the canal near Trent University, the Peterborough Public Library (pictured) and Edgewater Blvd across Little Lake from downtown.
URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT (2000) was partly filmed on the Trent University campus.
FOXFIRE (2012) was partially filmed on Stewart and Townsend Streets in downtown Peterborough.
CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN 2 (2005) brought perhaps the biggest stars to the area in Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt and Hilary Duff. That one filmed in Burleigh Falls.
Of course the main street in MILLBROOK is always popular, with movies such as The Music Man (2003) with Matthew Broderick and Victor Garber, The Ice Princess (2005) with Michelle Trachtenberg and Kim Cattrall, Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town (2012) starring Jill Hennessy, Gordon Pinsent and Colin Mochrie, the Town Christmas Forgot (2010) starring Lauren Holly, and A History of Violence (2005) starring Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris and directed by the legendary David Cronenberg.
So, good on ya Peterborough for being, and looking your best for MM and a yet another return engagement. In the meantime, here’s some other places they’ve filmed…
