Ever look at some of the textbooks or lessons that your child brings home and think, “Who wrote this stuff anyway??!!”
Lynne Polvino is a children’s book editor in New York. As she read over her daughter’s assignment that came home one day last week, Lynne (as a working mom herself) couldn’t help but feel her blood pressure rise a little as she it. And, being an editor, did a re-write on the school assignment.
The little “Back To Work” story was essentially blaming a mom for going back to work and ruining her daughter’s day. With a few edits (that included dad making a breakfast that wasn’t awful) and some positive thinking, the narrative has been changed.
Much better now…isn’t it??!! Nicely done, Lynne!
