Anyone who has ever had a pet go missing knows that horrible feeling of distress and helplessness.
That’s what a family was dealing with last week up on Contau Lake near Gooderham.
Maggie is a 12 year-old Red Heeler that went missing July 29th until August 5th before she was found approximately 3 hours east of where she was lost.
As mom (Michelle) says:
“Thank you everyone! We are so happy! Thank you for sharing our post so many times and for all of the support! She had taken shelter underneath a trailer in the middle of the forest, we don’t know for how long, but she had traveled east of our cottage at least 3 hours. The lovely family who found her contacted us & we took off in the truck right away, as Maggie would not go near the family and we were scared she’d run. 7 days out in the forest… we don’t know how this old girl did it, but we couldn’t be happier!!”
Welcome home Maggie!!!
The joy in their voices – – and in their child’s face – – as Maggie bounds up the stairs says it all. Just like the 1979 Peaches’n’Herb song. “Reunited. And it feels so good!”
