It was a huge night for music at last night at the VMAs. Many are saying that Pink stole the show with and acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard Award about her young daughter, who at just 6 years old recently told her mother she felt like the ugliest girl she knew.
In true Pink fashion she gave a pretty uplifting performance as well.
Other highlights from last night… Kendrick Lamar kicked off the night with a fiery, high kicking jam.
Lorde attempted some sort of interpretive dance.
Miley Cyrus turned the whole thing into a sock hop. Kudos to her for having dancers from the actual era of sock hops.
The award for most unexpected duet should have gone to DNCE and Rod Stewart.
There were some serious moments. A descendant of Robert E. Lee, spoke out against hate and introduced the mother of the woman who was killed by white supremacists in Charlottesville.
And Jared Leto paid tribute to Chester Bennington.
There weren’t too many stand out moments from host Katy Perry. She closed out the night her latest single, Swish Swish.
The very end of the show was the moment everyone was waiting for: The debut of Taylor Swift’s new video, Look What You Made Me Do.
