Tim Out In The Cold For Change
|WHERE||Downtown Peterborough Map|
|WHEN||Jan 26/18 4:00 AM - Jan 26/18 4:00 PM|
Peterborough Cares CEO & Founder Camille Parent is pleased and excited to have our own Peterborough City Police Deputy Chief Tim Farquharson camp out in the cold downtown Peterborough on January 26th, 4:00PM to 4:00AM, no matter what the weather.
Tim has dealt with homelessness for years and Camille reminisces a conversation he and Tim had years ago while sitting on a committee at a local shelter of some sorts...
I was totally at aww with Tim's attitude, warmth and determination in focusing on eliminating homelessness, as this is a very strong passion of mine Parent says.
Parent states, this is what happens when you team up with such amazing people wanting to make this beautiful city better, it just doesn't get any stronger than that"!
Farquharson says that we all need to Care, and are all equal and all deserve shelter, food and supports if needed.
Farqui says we're doing this to raise awareness and funds for one of the safety nets for our most vulnerable and that's Peterborough's three shelters, the warming room, Brock Mission and the YES Youth and Family Emergency Shelter.
Parent says when he approached the Deputy Police Chief, he did not only expect to get such positive response but was blown away by the passion the Deputy Chief has for this cause and for this, i couldn't think of a better person to be doing this, he's a tough man and will accomplish this hands down like everything else he tackles.
Peterborough does Care and it keeps proving this every day through the actions of it's fantastic community and strong commitment in making this city the best town to live in!
Tim out in the cold for change will have a lineup throughout the night playing different tunes for change with Bobby Watson opening... Stay tuned for more names soon!! :)
We need to care, we are all equal.
