On Wednesday (July 12) it was decided and announced that Ariana Grande would become an honourary citizen of Manchester, England.
City officials were impressed when Grande decided to return to Manchester following the terror attack that left 22 of her fans dead and 250 injured.
“It would have been understandable if she had never wanted to see this place again,” said council member Richard Leese. “But she determined she would not to perform again until she had returned to Manchester. In doing so she brought comfort to thousands, she raised millions for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund“, he continued.
Ariana Grande took to Instagram to share the news writing that she’s “moved and honored” by the gesture.
